Elene Salukvadze – PhD in Geography, Deputy Director of the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography, Senior Researcher, a member of the Scientific Board of the Alexandre Javakhishvili Geographical Society of Georgia.
1977-1982 – Studied A.S. Pushkin Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of Natural Sciences, specialty: geography-biology; with honor.
1983-1986 - Postgraduate study of the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Georgaphy of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, specialty - "Physical Geography, Landscape Geophysics and Geochemistry".
1993 - PhD in geography (Candidate of Geography Sciences), Thesis topic - “Landscape - ecological analysis of the largest industrial centers’ suburb zones for the rational nature use purposes" (Tbilisi and Rustavi cities case study).
Research interests: Landscape - ecological assessment and analysis of natural-territorial complexes, transformation of the natural environment, the ecological condition and potential of landscapes. She is the author of more than 70 publications and 5 monographs. She has participated in local grant projects and international and local conferences.
Lectures delivered: General earth science; landscape science; physical geography of Georgia; physical geography of the Caucasus, general physical geography at various higher education institutions: Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani, Tbilisi State Pedagogical University 1998-2005, Sukhumi Branch of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University 1999-2003, Ilia Chavchavadze State University 2005-2010. In 2003, she was conferred the title of Docent.
From 2014 to present, she has been an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Politic Sciences, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
