Project number: FR-25-166
Project PI: Dr. Lasha Asanidze
The project aims to conduct a comprehensive investigation and analysis of both natural and human-induced geo-hazards characteristic of karst environment in Georgia. To achieve this goal, the research team members will employ internationally recognized and widely validated methodologies for the study of karst landscape. The project will develop a Karst Disturbance Index for the first time in Georgia, which will serve as an essential tool for the effective assessment, monitoring, and sustainable management of karst environment. The project also envisages active collaboration with Italian professors, who will be directly involved in field-based scientific investigations in Georgia. They will share their expertise with Georgian colleagues, including early-career researchers, that is very important for theoretical and practical point of view.
